The impact of adding 120 bike stations.
This past summer an additional 120 bike stations were deployed to the existing 80 station Bike Share Toronto network. This has allowed the system to reach far beyond the original system borders and unlock new areas of the city for bike sharing. The map above displays this outward growth from the original service area.
The number of stations is not the only way we have grown. 1000 new bikes were deployed doubling the bicycle fleet available to ride. Over 2000 people have become new members and taken advantage of this growing system that now services their neighborhoods. Daily, monthly and annual ridership numbers have also all reached new heights post expansion.
It has been only four months since this expansion took place and the impact has already proven to be positive. We appreciate the continued support from our growing member base and look forward to the future of Bike Share Toronto!
