Bike Share Toronto COVID-19 Update

03/30/2020

At Bike Share Toronto, we are committed to keeping our customers and staff safe.  As such, we have ramped up our cleaning program during the COVID-19 crisis. These new measures, however, do not guarantee that all bikes will be 100% clean at all times, given that they are regularly in use and exposed to the environment.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you take the steps outlined in the City of Toronto’s COVID-19 Health Advisory when using the Bike Share Toronto system. The best way to prevent infection is to follow the recommended personal hygiene measures. These prevention measures include:

  • Practise physical distancing
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 15 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill
  • Stay home when you are ill
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands
  • If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

To practise physical distancing, please download and use the PBSC app, or use your member key for releasing a bike.

Please stay informed about COVID-19 by visiting  the City of Toronto’s website at https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19
