We’re Coming To A Neighbourhood Near You!

09/26/2023

We’re planning community engagement events this fall and want your feedback!

Guided by Bike Share Toronto’s Four-Year Growth Plan, the Toronto Parking Authority is planning to expand the Bike Share Toronto system to have a station in all 25 wards of Toronto by the end of 2024. The neighbourhoods being considered for new stations in 2023 are Scarborough Southwest, Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park, and Jane and Finch

As we roll out station planning and installation, we will be conducting an engagement process in these neighbourhoods this fall, with the support of local partners. We will be engaging residents from the various neighbourhoods to obtain input that focus on equity, and will support and improve station location planning. We will also share information and education about Bike Share Toronto, intended to encourage long-term ridership in the new communities once stations are installed.

Over the course of late September to November, we will be engaging with residents in each of these identified neighbourhoods by:

  • Encouraging participation on an online engagement hub (including survey and interactive map) available at engagebikeshareTO.com
  • Hosting a pop-up event in each community
  • Facilitating community workshops and conducting one-on-one interviews

We will also be working with local community animators to support this work at a community level. Our first pop-up event for the Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park neighbourhoods is being held on September 30th as part of the Project Breezy: Bicycle Donation Drive and Repair Workshop at Flemingdon Park Shopping Centre (747 Don Mills Road) from 11am to 2pm.
