We Made Bike Share Toronto History! 🙌

Nearing the end of October, you pedalled your way to a new program record – 5 million trips taken with Bike Share Toronto!

This milestone is a testament to the growing popularity and impact of Bike Share Toronto as a transportation option within our city. We are pedal proud of our riders, who have not only embraced the convenience of bike sharing but have also contributed to a greener, healthier Toronto for all.

Billing Update For Annual Members

An update has been made to the billing process for members. Members will be billed classic bike overage fees and e-bike usage fees on the 25th of every month (as historically done) OR if fees reach the amount of $50, whichever comes first.

Help Us Place Stations in Your Neighbourhood 💬

Bike Share Toronto is adding new stations in the communities of Jane and Finch, Thorncliffe Park and Flemingdon Park, and Scarborough Southwest. We’re seeking your input to help put stations in locations that are useful and accessible to the community.

We’ve Extended Weekday Superstation Service 🏙

The weather might be cooling down, but that hasn’t stopped our riders from using Bike Share Toronto as part of the morning commutes! Weekday superstations with valet service has been extended until the end of November to keep up with commuter demand.

Superstations guarantee you a bike and a place to dock so you can have full confidence riding to the office or school.

SUPERSTATION DETAILS

Have You Used A ‘Stacked Station’?

More stacked stations are being installed throughout the city, which is a configuration that maximized space and provides riders with more docking in busy areas. A stacked station has 2 staggered rows of docking points.

Here’s a reminder on how they work:

Dock your bike in row 1 (green – back row) and fill it first.

Unlock bikes from row 2 (black – front row). Dock your bike in row 2 when row 1 is full.

2023 Expansion Update 🚲

Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, our team has been hard at work installing a total of 76 brand new 2023 expansion stations around the city – densifying new and existing wards with Bike Share Toronto.

In October, there were 28 new expansion installs with the majority being installed in Ward 5 (York South-Weston). We also focussed efforts on expanding in Ward 3 (Etobicoke-Lakeshore) and Ward 8 (Eglinton-Lawrence).

Growing The Cycling Network: Have Your Say Now!

More people are cycling now than ever. The City of Toronto helps make traveling by bike safer by building bikeways, like physically separated cycle tracks, bike lanes, neighbourhood routes, and multi-use trails. The City is planning where to build and upgrade bikeways next, and we want your input.

RIDER TIP OF THE MONTH:

MEMBER CLASSIC BIKE OVERGE FEES

For members, trips on a classic bike exceeding 30 or 45 minutes (based on your membership type) are subject to overage fees.

MEMBER E-BIKE USAGE FEES

All member e-bike trips will be subject to per minute pricing ($0.10 per minute). Ride for as long as you’d like using an e-bike without having to dock every 30 or 45 minutes. You will be changed until the time you dock.
